The New 802.11ac Routers - Length, Speed and Bridging

We're not talkin' dirty here, but these routers are just plain fast. Way faster then "N" wireless routers. Plus the coverage of an "AC" router will penetrate walls much better than Wireless "N". No more soft signal areas.

If you have a home server or NAS with your media stream anything you like, full HD movies, Blu-Ray ISO's. and large file transfers with total ease.

Version 2.0 draft of "AC" wireless routers wont be fully ratified until next year, but they are good enough to deploy now. You might have a hard time finding wireless adapters, so the work-around is to purchase two "AC" Routers and bridge them if you have multiple devices in your media room. Connecting the devices to the bridged router. You will need to turn on bridging in each router. Each manufacturers router firmware will have the bridge mode located in different area.

Netgear, Belkin, D-Link,and Linksys are players as of now. More will follow. If you need an "AC" USB Adapter, Netgear is the place to go
