PATCH, PATCH PATCH to keep HACKERS at bay

Updates are extremely important.

Its what stops hackers, its what keeps your system current squashing bugs and making your system run more efficient.

It was not done in the case of the major hack at OPM (Office of Personnel Management) of which they are claiming 4 million credentials were compromised. I believe its much higher since there are reports they have been compromised since December. Maybe longer.

This is a CNN article, but it could be from any site that preaches safe network management.

CNN post on how China possibly hacked OPM

The first line is PATCH, the fifth line is PATCH.

So we strongly recommend patching - If yore not sure, VM the machine and try your patch in the shop. This can be used for SQL or on-premis Exchange
We manage over 30 servers for clients.
We perform our backups and we patch. Monthly.
We have not had a server patch issue the last few years if not longer.
In today's climate you cant sit and delay security patches.
